Season Opener Almost Complete

The 2017 Peter Craven Memorial field continues to grow after Belle Vue’s Director of Speedway Mark Lemon confirmed the next four names who will make an appearance in the event on April 1st.

The Redcar duo of Ben Barker and Jason Garrity join Edinburgh’s Ricky Wells and former Aces rider Patrick Hougaard as the latest stars who will help welcome the new season to Manchester.

It leaves only a final four names - to be announced later this week - before the completed line-up will be known, with the draw scheduled to take place on March 24th at the club’s “Shakedown”.

Barker’s extensive history of racing makes him one of the most recognised British riders in competition, and that in itself comes with a whole host of club honours earned over the years.

Garrity has been a favourite of fans across the UK for much of his career and has wowed the crowds with his trademark “all-or-nothing” style which has become legendary at tracks nationwide.

USA international Ricky Wells continues to impress both in domestic and international competition and has taken on a new challenge for the 2017 season as a freshman to the Edinburgh Monarchs.

Also looking to make an impact in a new home is Somerset newcomer Hougaard, another familiar face to Belle Vue spectators in particular owing to his five-year residence between 2008-2012.

Tickets for the Belle Vue Shakedown on March 24th and the 2017 Peter Craven Memorial on April 1st are now available online via the club website. For more information, visit www.bellevueaces.co.
