Belle Vue Embraces WSRA Initiative

Belle Vue Speedway remains extremely committed to the ex-rider community and in particular to those riders who have adorned the famous ‘Ace Of Clubs’ race jacket over the last 89 years.

The club is very supportive of this special group and, with this in mind, is delighted to announce that the BSPA-backed entry policy devised by the WSRA is to be fully endorsed by ourselves.

In time for the 2017 season, the WSRA has worked tirelessly to come up with an admissions policy for ex-riders that recognises their contribution to the sport both in this country and abroad.

The policy allows riders who qualify via the WSRA scheme to obtain free entry to participating tracks on production of their Gold WSRA Card when accompanied by a full paying guest.

The club is delighted to embrace this fantastic initiative which replaces last year’s Heritage Club and our ticket office have been fully briefed to issue tickets to Gold Card members on this basis.

Former WSRA President Bert Harkins said: “The WSRA is delighted to be involved with Belle Vue Speedway as there already is much common ground between the two associations.

“Many former Aces riders, including the legendary Alan Wilkinson, are amongst our members.

“We have a Peter Craven/Belle Vue display in our WSRA National Speedway Museum at Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire, plus bikes from Peter Collins and Chris Morton.

“There will be an even greater Belle Vue association in November when 1976 World Champion Peter Collins takes over as WSRA President at the annual Awards Dinner at the Leicester Marriott.

“All Belle Vue fans, and of course those of any other club, are welcome to attend the event to witness Peter receive the Chain of Office from current President, Neil Middleditch.”

Belle Vue Speedway is very much looking forward to seeing our ex-riders on a regular basis here at the National Speedway Stadium as we go into our 89th season in Manchester!
