Aces Expect Bumper Easter Crowd!

Belle Vue are urging fans to arrive early as a bumper crowd is expected to descend on the National Speedway Stadium this Good Friday, April 14, when the Rentruck Aces take on Wolverhampton.

The club’s traditional Easter fixture against the reigning Premiership Champions is tipped as one of the ‘must see’ meetings of the Bank Holiday weekend, with tickets already proving very popular.

Captain Craig Cook is determined to see his side continue their successful start to the campaign but says that, despite the Wolves early away teething troubles, they should remain on their guard.

He said: “We’ve already made a great start to the season but there’s a long way to go yet, and if we want to make the Play Offs this year everyone needs to pitch in and build on our early success.

“Wolverhampton are no slouches around our track. We learned that first hand in the 2016 Grand Final. They’ve got some powerful riders who I’m sure will prove tough customers on Friday.

“But having said that, we’ve shown how strong we are as a unit. We’re equally capable around our home circuit and I believe we’re more than capable of continuing the good form we’re currently in.

“At this point in the season, it would be foolish to be complacent and we know there are still areas which need improvement. But there’s such a good chemistry amongst us, we can tackle anything.”

In the wake of their superb start to both their Premiership and KOC campaigns, team boss Mark Lemon affirmed his belief in his side’s great potential to aim for silverware this season.

He said: “It’s taken a lot of hard work to get things to this point, and full credit to all the boys for their efforts so far. They’ve ridden their socks off and bagged three fantastic results.

“We had a great night at Poole and likewise at Swindon, and their performance against the Pirates at home last week was spectacular. There was never any doubt in my mind that they couldn’t do it.

“But we never underestimate our opponents. Wolverhampton are the reigning champions and they will be just as determined as us to bag on the points on Friday. It’ll be a fantastic meeting for sure.”

Tickets are available online via the club’s website, www.bellevueaces.co (same price as race day), while box office and telephone orders are also available Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00am - 4:00pm.

Stadium officials are expecting large numbers for this popular bank holiday fixture and are urging anyone wishing to attend to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day.
