Belle Vue's Black Country Encore?

Belle Vue are set to commence another busy week of racing on Tuesday when they head to Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green home in pursuit of another cluster of vital league points.

The Rentruck Aces currently sit third in the British Premiership table behind top flight newcomers Rye House and first-place Poole, who hold a mere 4-point advantage over their closest rivals.

With the two southern clubs not in action until Saturday - against each other - and with Belle Vue set to tackle three meetings this week, they are in a prime position to shake up the standings.

The reigning champions were sent home on Good Friday having been comprehensively defeated by the Rentruck Aces, and team boss Mark Lemon is looking for an encore in the Black Country.

He said: “This campaign has got off to such a magical start for us. Of course the league isn’t won in April but this team is just so good. They rode brilliantly last week and they deserved every point.

“We knew that the Wolves would put up a tough fight. It’s easy to say that what they did to us in last year’s Grand Final is just history, but there always that satisfaction of getting one over them.

“Now I want us to go down to Monmore and finish the job. I anticipate another challenging night though. Wolves have yet to be defeated at home and they’ve some real track experts in their side.

“Freddie Lindgren, Sam Masters and Jacob Thorssell are very strong characters in their team but I believe we have equally strong capabilities at their circuit, as we’ve proved many times before.”

Lemon has stated a variety of factors that have contributed to the early-season successes of his team, but none more so than the powerful support directed towards the club by the Belle Vue fans.

He continued: “There’s just a great vibe around the team and around the club in general. This is what speedway’s all about. The boys are thriving on the support and encouragement from the fans.

“The momentum and belief you see and feel in the pits is a joy to be around. We have to maintain it and keep it going, and hopefully we can return from our upcoming matches with more points.”
