Cook Keen For King's Lynn Challenge

Belle Vue are aiming to further enhance their league tally when they travel to King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena this evening after picking up a hard-earned point from Wolverhampton 24 hours earlier.

The Trucks R’ Us Stars have undergone a dramatic transformation over the winter and have made an impressive start to their 2017 home campaign with a hefty win over top flight newbies Somerset.

2012 world champion Chris Holder leads the Norfolk side along with Robert Lambert and former GP regular Troy Batchelor, who finished 2nd in the recent Peter Craven Memorial at Belle Vue.

The Rentruck Aces have enjoyed a collection of positive results at Saddlebow Road in the last few years and after the brilliant beginning to their season, they are determined to continue that trend.

Club No.3 Kenneth Bjerre has already proved his mettle at the Adrian Flux Arena after triumphing in Simon Lambert’s testimonial while his team mates have also shown equal affinity for the track.

Skipper Craig Cook is confident of a positive result against the ambitious King’s Lynn Stars, but affirms his side must forge ahead in solidarity and reiterated his caution against complacency.

He said: “We were disappointed to lose at Wolverhampton. I felt we should've gone there and won. But that’s speedway sometimes and we at least came away with a hard-earned league point.

“To be honest, the boys are really buzzing and we’re looking forward to facing King’s Lynn. They’ve got some quality riders but we’ve put in our share of good performances there in recent years.

“It’s still early doors but the team is gelling so well, I see no reason why we can’t go there and put in a good result. We have the talent and the capability to pull off a win and take maximum points.

“The key to any successful team is, I believe, solidarity. We have a strong, all-round side. All of us are enjoying our racing and if we go down there with that attitude we’re definitely in with a shout.

“Looking at the bigger picture, we must ensure we do not leave Norfolk empty handed and to do that we must pull together. But I firmly believe that with our current vein of form, that won’t happen.”
