Crucial Clash For Colts

After a short hiatus in racing, the Belle Vue Colts resume their National League campaign at Birmingham on Wednesday night where they hope to extend their lead at the top of the table.

And with the Premiership fixture in Poole postponed early due to a poor weather forecast, it means both Dan Bewley and Jack Smith will resume normal service at Perry Barr.

Originally, Mitchel Davey and Danny Ayres had been booked to guest but with his own riders available and eligible to take their place, team boss Graham Goodwin says it’s the ideal scenario.

He continued: “We’re grateful to both Mitchell and Danny who were more than happy to assist us, but it’s always a million times better to have your own riders in such an important meeting.

“We will still be utilising rider replacement for Lee Payne at No.4, which will allow us to take full advantage of the skills of the rest of the team to hopefully come away with a favourable result.

“First impressions would have this down as a really tough match for us. Birmingham has some very strong characters, like JPB, Liam Carr and Taylor Hampshire; whom we rate very highly.

“At minimum, I’d like us to come away with a point but the perfect night would see us leave with all four. Either way, I’ve every faith that our boys can deliver a performance to be proud of.”

Saturday, August 5th, sees the Summer of Speed touch down at Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium, with a rich collection of racing and entertainment on offer for a bargain price.

Featuring the sixth round of the British Youth Championships as its main event, tickets are just £5 for adults while accompanied children under 18 are free, available on the gate only from 5pm.

The event will conclude with a special forum where fans will get to hear from club CEO Adrian Smith and Director of Speedway Mark Lemon.
