Full-Throttle Fightback

A full-strength Belle Vue Aces will be pulling no punches and going full-throttle when reigning Premiership champions, Swindon, visit the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, July 9.

The Rentruck Aces have vowed to vigorously bounce back after last Wednesday’s loss at Poole, and are pumped up for the challenge the league leaders will undoubtedly bring with them.

But with several clubs clustered around the Premiership’s fourth spot, the Rentruck Aces are targeting a big home result to bolster their top four position and maintain their play off contention.

On each of their previous visits to Manchester, the Rentruck Aces have dominated the Blunsdon outfit but team boss, Mark Lemon, is not prepared to allow complacency to creep into his side.

He said: “The Premiership is the most challenging league in Britain, and highly unpredictable. Just because we have beaten Swindon at home before will not guarantee victory on Monday night.

“I don’t need to emphasise the importance of this fixture to the team. They are fully aware of the job that needs to be done and want as much as anyone a place in the Play-Offs this season.

“We’ve got our full team together and we’re going to need everyone on top form. Swindon are not top of the table for no reason. They’re a strong side who, we know, ride our track very well.

“But for one blip, we’ve been very strong at home so far this year and the boys are fired up after what happened at Poole so I believe we can expect a very powerful performance from them.”

There’s more speedway next week after the Rentruck Aces’ home clash with Swindon on July 9, as the Cool Running colts take on Stoke at the National Speedway Stadium on Friday, July 13.

Tickets for both home meetings are now available online at www.bellevueaces.co and at the stadium box office on race night.
